Some Must-Have Gloves Around the House

When it comes to household chores and maintenance, it is important to properly protect yourself from chemicals found in many household cleaning products. In addition, there are usually tasks around the house that involve a bit heftier involvement like gardening, trimming trees, or other construction-type projects.

So, what kind of gloves should you have on hand (no pun intended) so you’re always ready to go no matter what home project arises? We’ve rounded up a few of our favorite general-purpose gloves that can be used in a variety of situations.

Disposable Gloves

Disposable Nitrile gloves can be used for almost any task from food prep to changing diapers to working on your car. Nitrile eliminates the worry of an allergic reaction, they are inherently resistant to many common chemicals, they are economical, and they are well-fitting.

Work Gloves

If you’re doing any sort of home renovation or heavy duty yardwork that includes moving bricks or other materials, we recommend a coated cut resistant work glove. Getting a cut resistant glove will help protect you from any punctures that might occur when you’re working with sharp tools or moving potentially harmful materials. Getting a glove with a nitrile coating will enhance your grip and allow you to work with more efficiency. An excellent feature to consider as well is touch screen compatibility, so that you can easily pause that tutorial when you’re in the middle of your weekend DIY project.

Outdoor/Gardening Gloves

A good quality pair of leather work gloves are perfect for light gardening and outdoor yard work. They offer great dexterity and comfort and are easy to put on and take off. They offer moderate protection against punctures and become more comfortable with time as they wear in and mold to the shape of your hand.

Cleaning Gloves

Whether you’re washing dishes every night, cleaning the bathroom, or doing some sort of other deep cleaning in your house, we recommend using a pair of latex cleaning gloves. These gloves are super durable and feature a poly chlorinated lining that makes them easy to put on and remove. They have a long cuff so your wrists and lower forearms will be protected and they feature a textured grip on the palms and fingers to enhance your grip.
